Chelsea Show Interest In England Youngster

Chelsea have registered an interest in Burnley striker Danny Ings after the youngster has proven to be a revelation at Turf Moor this season, and could lodge a bid in the region of £5 million for the frontman before the end of the January transfer window, according to the Mirror.

The Blues are still recovering from their fourth round exit from the FA Cup where they were humbled by Bradford City. After their exit, they managed to quickly get back to form against Liverpool in the reverse fixture of the Capital One cup semi final. The advantage for Chelsea was that the game was at Stamford Bridge, and with expectations high after Jose Mourinho made 9 changes in the game against Bradford at the weekend with this fixture against Liverpool in mind, Branislav Ivanovic secured the win for Chelsea with a 94th minute winner meaning the Blues went through 2-1 on aggregate and now will face the winner of tonight’s 2nd leg semi-final between Spurs and Sheffield United. But all eyes will also be on recent developments regarding Andre Schurrle’s apparent desire to move to German side Wolfsburg. The German international is keen on the move in search of first team football which has been on hard to come by in London.

Ings began his career at Bournemouth as a youth player and then represented the club at senior level. After 27 league games and one loan spell at Dorchester Town, Ings moved to Burnley to step up in his career. Since his move in 2011, Ings has made 106 appearances for the Clarets, scoring 34 goals, 7 of which have come in the Premier League this season but whether Ings will get the playing time he wants in North London should he move remains to be seen.
