Chelsea Set To Sign Croatian Striker?

Chelsea are set to sign Andej Kramaric, a striker playing for Croatian club Rijeka, after the London based club have beaten interest from city rivals Tottenham Hotspur and a host of other clubs for the player’s signature, according to the Daily Star.

The Blues continued their supremacy at the top of the Barclays Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 win against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday at Stamford Bridge. Both goals came within the half hour mark, when Diego Costa continued his ruthless scoring spree in the 11th minute to give Chelsea the lead, while Belgian ace Eden Hazard gave the side a little breathing space, extending the lead by another goal on the 25th minute mark. The Blues have an impressive strike force with Costa providing the thrust, and Loic Remy doing his best to break through into the starting eleven. Didier Drogba’s invaluable experience also brings a sense of calm in the squad that have now gone 15 games unbeaten.

Kramaric started his career in 1997 as a youth player with Dynamo Zagreb, the same club that also raised Real Madrid star Luka Modric in his younger days. The striker then signed a professional contract with the club in 2009, and represented the outfit on 42 occasions. In 2013, Rijeka signed Kramaric, and the 23-year old has played 38 matches for the club, scoring an astounding 37 goals in the process.
