Costa was brought on off the bench to score and produce a penalty Oscar managed to execute a lot better than Hazard which is probably the most concerning thing that happened last night. The Belgium international does not seem to have the strongest morale as he is on a little bit downward spiral since the beginning of the season. He was given the chance to get his rhythm back on against Maccabi who were more than an accessible team. Unfortunately, he was not the best player on the pitch for Chelsea.

Loftus-Cheek stood out and dominated his part of the pitch. Willian was also great up until he picked up a hamstring injury. Not sure why this guy does not get more credit as he is one of the hardest working and most talented players Chelsea have. Costa was also satisfying in terms of efficiency even if he is still far from what he showed last season. Overall Mourinho’s side had a good night especially considering the fact that they managed to become the only Premier League team to actually win their debut Champions League game.
