Chelsea Prevented From Potential Signing Of Bale By FFP

Several rumors linked Gareth Bale to Chelsea in recent days. With the former Tottenham man apparently looking for a change from Real, Mourinho looked keen to step in. According to Metro, moving to Stamford Bridge would be close to impossible due to UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations. Unfortunately for Abramovich, having all the money in the world is not enough to bring in Bale. With a rumored offer of £150m being considered big enough to get Real to let the Welshman leave, Chelsea would theoretically be able to bring him back to London. Unfortunately UEFA will come between this huge deal and the Blues. The only team who could sign Bale and keep their finances in balance is Manchester United. Despite not winning anything and failing to qualify for Europe, their revenues would still balance out at the end of a season.

Chelsea on the other hand would have to take drastic measures in order to afford Bale. They were already having trouble with Diego Costa who cost three times less than Bale. After signing Fabregas, there was little room for an additional move. Without selling Luiz, Chelsea would have had big problems with UEFA. This time, they do not have the necessary players who can also be sold for a large amount of money. The only chance of signing Bale would be to sell someone like Hazard who is considered one of the best players in the world and could get close to the money which is needed for the Welshman.
