Chelsea Most Likely To Sign Dani Alves

Chelsea Most Likely To Sign Dani Alves

Barcelona’s Brazilian defender has recently made his future destination public. Apparently Alves will be joining a Premier League team next season when is contract expires. According to Metro, he is very close to agreeing with Chelsea. Mourinho is known for always making moves on players who have trouble with their current teams. He swooped in and snatched Fabregas and Carvalho. He is also close to making a deal with Real for Khedira. Barcelona’s 31 year old right-back seems very close to moving to Stamford Bridge as well.

Even though Liverpool and Manchester United are also hot on his trail, Chelsea seem the ones closest to securing his services. They are the only ones who are currently capable of providing Alves with the same perspective he has with Barcelona trophy wise. Both United and Liverpool don’t seem ready yet to claim Champions League glory which could be a problem for the Brazilian who is very driven by high goals.

Negotiations are expected to take place sometimes next week. Even though Alves’s contract expires at the end of the season, Barcelona might want to make some money by selling him a bit earlier. Chelsea will probably make an offer during the January transfer window.

Mourinho looks determined to sign Alves who despite being 31, is one of the best right-backs in the world. Chelsea will surely give him enough chances to play especially while the Portuguese manager is in charge. That will probably lean the balance in favor of the Londoners.
