Chelsea Looking To Do Business With Everton

Negotiations with Everton were always going to be tough especially after how much they ended up paying for Lukaku. Chelsea are now interested in 21-year-old John Stone who is expected to be moving to Stamford Bridge this summer. Seen as one of the most promising talents in the Premier League, the center back is valued by his club at more than £20m which is what Mourinho’s first offer was. Even though Stones played only 54 games for the Toffees, he is seen as one of the best long-term solutions for the future.

Mourinho is so keen on signing Everton’s defender that he even suggested he will be pushing for a transfer up until the end of the transfer window. According to the Daily Mail, the Portuguese boss insisted that this is not a rumor either and that other bids will be made until the transfer is finalized.

On the other side, Everton’s Roberto Martinez looked angry when asked about his player’s future. He told the press that there will be no transfer regardless of the amount of money Chelsea are ready to throw at the 21-year-old.

Apparently the whole transfer thing is getting to Stones who looked a bit phased out against Arsenal when Everton lost the Premier League Asia Trophy. It could be too much pressure for a 21-year-old player to handle especially after spending just 1 season with the big boys. Hopefully he will not lose his head and continue becoming better and better. Not sure yet if he is the best replacement for JT but he sure looks promising.
