Chelsea’s search for a world class striker might come to an end if Jackson Martinez decides to move to Stamford Bridge. Signing Porto’s player might be a bit complicated. United who are looking to build a new team, also seem interested in the 27 year old who has really made a name for himself during the past two years.

According to the Daily Mail, Martinez is not Chelsea’s first choice for a spot in Mourinho’s starting eleven. Despite that, he would make a great addition to the team considering how poor their scoring record is especially when it comes to the strikers.

Martinez is currently valued at £25million which seems pretty much right considering how efficient the Colombian international really is. He has scored more goals this season than Demba Ba, Torres and Eto’o put together.

Chelsea still have high hopes when it comes to signing two new strikers at the beginning of the summer. Regardless of the fact that Martinez is not a priority he would do so much good to a team who has big problems in front of goal. Porto’s striker will surely replace Torres or Eto’o but will have a hard time if Cavani or Diego Costa found their way to Stamford Bridge. Despite his amazing qualities, he is still not as great as those two.
