Chelsea Land UEFA Youth League Trophy

Jose Mourinho has a lot to look forward to after the youth team has landed the UEFA Youth League trophy after a crazy game against Shakhtar Donetsk. According to Metro, The Blues, led by captain Izzy Brown played a great game and proved to critics that Chelsea is not only relying on money when it comes to conquerring important competitions. With homegrown footballers like Brown, Solanke and Loftus-Cheek already getting a taste of what being the best in Europe feels like, it is only a matter of time until they start wanting more.

Abramovich’s plan to create a club that will dominate football for years to come looks right on track with investments already starting to give back. Even though the Blues have the largest number of players sent out on loan, they still have time to manage their own. The money invested in the youth academies and into scouting might not be that important of a subject but really they are right up there in the list of priorities. Managing to raise youngsters who by the age of 20 are able to compete with Hazard, Fabregas or Costa for a spot in the starting eleven is a great achievement for a club that only spent money on transfers up until a few years back. The future looks incredibly bright from any angle you approach its current development. The big players are already established members of the team, less experienced footballers are doing great on loan and the youth team just one their most important trophy yet. Hopefully they will bring that determination and winning spirit on to the 1st team set-up at Stamford Bridge and will grow to become champions like the current squad.
