Chelsea Keep A Close Eye On Europe’s Finest Youngsters

Chelsea are known for making massive investments. They not only spend a lot of money on important and experienced players like Costa and Fabregas but they also take great care in setting up a long list of future prospects who could compete at the highest level possible in the future. According to the Daily Star, the Blues are now keeping an eye on Abdoulaye Doucoure who has already made his senior debut with Rennes. Despite being 22 already, he still looks like one of the most tempting investments to make. Currently available for just £4m, the France U21 international is expected to become one of those rare players who goes relatively unnoticed in his early years before coming a star later in his career.

Doucoure would have probably been a lot further in his career if not for an unfortunate knee injury that kept him out for about 2/3 of a year. Even so, he has managed to return and increase his price a lot in just a couple of months. He is still under contract with Rennes until 2017 but looks ready to leave and tackle a bigger challenge. With Ramires and Mikel ready to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, the 22 year old could be the next player to perform next to Matic and Fabregas in the middle of the pitch. Hopefully before June he will have had enough time to make a full recovery and regain the form he showed before the injury.
