Chelsea Interested In Atletico’s Miranda?

Mourinho is well known for the trust he puts in experienced players who some consider obsolete. It happened with Carvalho at Real and Eto’o and/or Drogba at Chelsea. All of them showed they still have a lot to offer and proved critics wrong by holding their own throughout the period of time spent under the Special One’s management. It could be time for the Portuguese boss to bring in a new player to strengthen the lot for one or two years. According to Metro, Atletico’s Joao Miranda is being watched by the Blues and could be offered a deal one year before his contract with the Spanish side expires. The 30 year old would be a great temporary solution to have around for a year or two. It would be strange to see him receive a long term deal especially after what happened with Felipe Luis. Not only is Miranda older than his fellow compatriot but he is also in for a lot more competition than Luis who was seen as a sure thing to fill in the left side of the defense but he has barely played.

Miranda is valued at about £20m which is a lot despite his great form and his recently improved resume. Chelsea surely have the budget to double down and bid for either Varane or Hummels who if they do indeed sign, are definitely going to come to Stamford Bridge to stay for a long time.
