Mourinho set up the perfect match and even though the blues allowed United to maintain a steady possession, they made sure the three points remained at Stamford Bridge with a stubborn defensive performance and a killer goal from Hazard. The Londoners reminded fans why the Portuguese boss is the Special One and showed exemplary discipline right when they needed it most.

Even though the game ended with a impressive possession stats for Manchester, all that mattered is that Chelsea won. United finished with a 71% dominance rate and 13 attempts on goal only 2 of which tested Courtois. The Blues only sent 5 shots towards De Gea, one of which got passed the Spaniard.

Chelsea worked great as a team but had two definite stand-out players. Hazard and Matic were on top of their game and made a huge difference. The Belgian deserves to be named man of the match due to the fact that he got the winner. Terry and Cahill also impressed by blocking almost all attempts on goal from Falcao, Rooney or Mata. Zouma and Drogba were sort of disappointing despite their huge physical effort. To be fair, Zouma was played out of position next to Matic which probably made him look so uncomfortable at times but he did the job asked of him by his manager.
