Chelsea In For Carlos Tevez

Chelsea In For Carlos Tevez

Chelsea have made attempts to sign former Manchester United and City forward Carloz Tevez. The 32-year-old, who plays for Boca Juniors, has revealed that the Blues, along with several other European clubs, have enquired about his services.

Chelsea were known to be in for a striker this summer, but after already signing Michy Batshuayi from Marseille on a five-year deal, it seemed Antonio Conte might have turned his attention to the centre of defence. However, according to Tevez’s statement, perhaps Conte is keen to add another striker to his frontline ahead of the new Premier League season.

“I’m fine at Boca,” said the 32-year-old, quoted in Italy’s Corriere dello Sport.

“Indeed my idea, my dream is to finish my career as a player in this wonderful club.

“Europe? Yes, it’s true Napoli and Chelsea seek me, but I repeat what I said before. My desire is to stay at Boca until I retire.”

Diego Costa has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, but new manager Conte has insisted that the Spanish international will stay at the club. Chelsea have also been known to chase Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata, who has seen 2 bids reportedly rejected for his services from Chelsea.

Tevez was also targeted by West Ham earlier in the summer but the east London club were not willing to meet his £250,000-a-week wage demands. Whether or not he is using his quotes as bait to get more money from Chelsea remains to be seen.
