Chelsea Have 26 Players On Loan Worth £100 Million!

Fernando Torres and Marco Van Ginkel were the latest big name players to head out on loan from Stamford Bridge this summer. The Blues have sent an astounding 26 players on loan in eight different countries including England, Germany, Spain, Italy, Holland, France, Greece and Chile.

Prior to the closure of the transfer window, the Blues had agreed loan moves away from London for Nathaniel Chalobah, Ulises Davila, Islam Feruz, Matej Delac and Jamal Blackman.

These 26 players scattered across the globe have cost Chelsea more than £100 million in transfer fees, according to Daily Mail. However, that figure is somewhat misleading since Torres was signed for half that amount in 2011.

Out of the other players, most were recruited as youngsters for seven figure sums and sent on loan. The likes of Romelu Lukaku, Kevin de Bruyne, amongst others have been sold for hefty profit and have helped to balance the books.

What do you think about Chelsea’s policy of buying youngsters and sending them out on loan?
