Chelsea Fail To End Premier League Losing Streak

There is less and less to say about what is going on at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are now 16th with just three points separating them from the first team that will leave the Premier League at the end of the season. Mourinho’s side have lost their 7th game of the season against a pragmatic Stoke side that knew when and where to push for a goal. The strangest thing is that the Blues actually played good football without Mourinho on the bench. It is very likely it is a coincidence but still, it is something to think about. They looked quite relaxed and determined at the start. The biggest surprise was probably Hazard who actually looked like that player who led Chelsea towards the title. He must have done something to gain his confidence back as he started dribbling and actually contributing to the attack. Unfortunately, it was not a good night for the Londoners who dominated the second half but with no success.

Arnautovic’s goal was somewhat deserved given the way things were going during that moment in time. The final result though does not reflect the reality. It should have ended in a draw, and it could have if not for Hazard and Remy’s unfortunate finishing touches right near the end of the game. Remy actually was a victim of his own honesty as if he had gone down when he was hit by Stoke keeper Jack Butland then he would have been awarded a penalty but since he tried to stay on his feet and score he could not get the ball in the net and the foul by Butland went unpunished. One more thing that is worth mentioning after this game is Costa’s attitude. If the striker or anyone on the staff do not take any action, he will surely get a big suspension which will leave Chelsea even more helpless in front of goal. They should already be thinking about a solution as they have only scored 5 more goals than Jamie Vardy on his own who is the Premier League’s top scorer.
