Chelsea Could Lose Star Player To Arsenal!

Petr Cech lost his number one status as Chelsea goalkeeper to Thibaut Courtois at the start of the new campaign after ten consecutive seasons. Courtois enjoyed a very productive three-year loan spell at Atletico Madrid, where he established himself as a top goalie, and Mourinho made the hard call to bench Cech.

The Czech Republic international is bound to evaluate his future options as he doesn’t consider himself as a back-up option. In fact, Courtois himself has indirectly claimed that Cech should leave in search of regular football.

The rumour doing the rounds is that Arsenal, Blues’ fierce London rivals, could be plotting a January move for the 32-year-old, according to Metro.

Chelsea ideally don’t do business with their direct title rivals but Cech could force through a move. He could continue staying in London, play Champions League football, and could also possibly challenge for the league title next season.

Jose Mourinho would be loath to see Cech move to Arsenal and he, along with other Chelsea fans, must be hoping a top European club comes calling for Cech’s signature.
