Cech To Leave Stamford Bridge

Cech To Leave Stamford Bridge

Petr Cech will be leaving Chelsea at the end of the summer after constant speculation that he is no longer interested in competing with Courtois. It has been known from the beginning of the season that the former number one will not be able to deal with being on the bench for too long. According to the Daily Express, one year is all that he can handle. In recent comments he did mention that the current situation is fine and that working head to head with Courtois is not a problem unless it is more than a year. That year will be up soon which means Cech will join a team that assures him he will not be on the bench.

Unfortunately for Chelsea there is not much to do regarding this situation. It was pretty unexpected to see Cech stay at Stamford Bridge after Courtois was confirmed as the number one keeper and it would be even more unexpected to see the two training together for one more year.

Cech is not going to have any problems finding a team considering how desperate some sides are to find a quality keeper. Liverpool and Arsenal seem like the most probable destinations for the 32 year old who still has a lot to offer. Inter Milan have entered the race recently as well and could get the Chelsea man to agree to a transfer knowing he will have no competition whatsoever because Handanovic is set to leave.
