Cech To End His Decade-Long Domination

Cech To End His Decade-Long Domination

Chelsea will probably part ways with Petr Cech who is not keen on being a substitute for Thibaut Courtois. Unfortunately for the 32 year old legend who is probably the best transfer the Blues have made in over 10 years, there is little chance for him to continue his domination. With his Belgian adversary being 10 years younger and also being on top of his game for quite a while now, Cech is expected to accept an offer from a club with which he can once again become number one.

Even though Cech is still one of the best keepers in the world, he is still no match for Courtois who shined last season. According to Metro, the youngster showed tremendous potential and would have probably left Stamford Bridge if he did not get a spot in the starting line-up. It was a difficult decision for Mourinho who admitted to the fact that the club will not interfere if Cech wants to leave. Being 32 is not that old especially for a goalkeeper. The Czech international has at least 4 to 6 more years left to play at the highest level possible. It is a tough position to be in as Courtois is arguably the best keeper in the world right now and no other keeper would be preferred to him at the moment so there is no shame that Cech is currently 2nd choice.

Chelsea will likely not be able to hold on to both keepers. Even if there are no actual rumors regarding Cech’s future destination, fans know that his collaboration with the Blues has more than likely come to an end. There are still a couple of days left until the 32 year old must decide what to do. At best, you would think he will stay in London until the winter transfer window before making a move to secure more playing time.
