Cech Should Leave Chelsea – Courtois

Thibaut Courtois has displaced Cech as Chelsea’s number one goalie this season after spending three fruitful seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid. The Belgian initially joined Chelsea for a nominal fee from Genk in 2011 and established himself as one of the world’s best goalkeepers at Atletico Madrid.

Arriving back at Stamford Bridge in the summer, the 22-year-old has been preferred ahead of Cech by Jose Mourinho. Courtois sympathises with Cech’s situation and claims he would have left the club if he was in Cech’s shoes, according to Daily Mail.

He said, “As a goalkeeper you want to play. If I was in that situation where I didn’t play a lot, then I would leave too. I think Petr is still a goalkeeper with a lot of quality and one of the best there is.”

Do you think Petr Cech will force a move away from Stamford Bridge in the next couple of transfer windows if not the upcoming winter window as surely a player of his class cannot stay on the bench much longer?
