The Blues can’t seem to shake the fact that they spent so much money on a striker who is now in danger of losing his scoring ‘record’ to Serbian defender, Branislav Ivanovic. The 31 year old right-back who seems to have reached the peak of his career, is on the verge of becoming a more efficient game winning scorer than Torres ever was at Stamford Bridge. According to Metro, Ivanovic who has just scored his 6^th goal of the season, is only one step behind the Spaniard who in his three years spent in London managed to score 19 Premier League goals.

To be fair, Ivanovic has been with the club since 2008, time in which he was one of the most common sights in the starting eleven. Even so, his 19 goals scored as a right back are a harsh reminder of how poorly the Torres situation was managed. Because of his inability to adapt and also because of the immense transfer fee that got the World Cup winner to Stamford Bridge, every manager had to struggle to ge the best from him. Unfortunately he never made an impact and got by as a mediocre player who left after a three year period which was not easy for either him or Chelsea. On the upside, The Blues have managed to find their pace and also find an amazing striker to play next to Oscar, Hazard and Willian. Torres has found his peace as well by finally returning to Atletico where he first impressed as a striker.
